We make it simple to eat healthy. All you need to do is register and get started. I suggest you pick a few meals to help you with the trouble spot in your week. Such as if you don't have time for a good breakfast, try some breakfast items or Pro Bars. If you need lunches to keep you from grabbing fast food, order meals for lunch. It is really that simple. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Dieting incorrectly causes the body to use stored protein as an energy source. This means that if you do not eat the proper amounts of protein 4 or 5 times a day, your body will breakdown your organs and muscles in order to stay alive. Eating too much protein in each meal will cause the body to have more than it needs and to store that excess in fat cells. Too little protein can cause hair loss, brittle and discolored fingernails, muscle wasting, weak ligaments and cellular dysfunction since amino acids are in short supply. The body's ability to keep or build muscle will be limited to impossible without proper amounts of protein.
Carbohydrates are utilized for energy, both quick and long-term. When not enough carbohydrates are taken in, the body uses proteins for energy, attacking muscle tissue for energy. Carbohydrates should make up about 60% of your daily calories. A 3000 calorie diet plan requires that 1800 of those be in complex carbohydrates.
Fat is NECESSARY for survival. A fat-less diet will often lead to severe problems. Body fat is instrumental in regulating the body's temperature. Fats also transport and absorb fat-soluble vitamins. Linoleic Acid is a fatty acid that is converted into a group of chemicals that regulate blood pressure, contractions in childbirth, blood clotting, peristalsis (gut motion for digestion) and the immune system. Simple sugars pass through the lining of the stomach and small intestine much too quickly and overwhelm the blood stream so the body sends out insulin to usher excess sugar into fat cells. Eating low glycemic foods will help, for example, did you know that eating a yellow banana will spike your blood sugar while a banana with a little green still on the peel will not. Yellow bananas are more fattening what greener bananas. The bottom line is, if you don't know what you're doing, dieting is filled with mistakes and traps that slow your progress and even sabotage your best efforts. Water is necessary for all energy production and is used for temperature regulation and waste elimination. Water is essential to cell processes. An insufficient supply of water will cause a 30% reduction of energy. Between 50 and 70% of the body's weight is water. Digestion is NOT possible without water. There are NO substitutes.
